UK Student Center Light Sculpture

Project Description: The University of Kentucky’s Gatton Student Center is the new heart of student life on the historic Lexington campus. The building is was designed in collaboration with the Perkins&Will Atlanta office and the Chicago Branded Environments department. My contribution to this project was the design, drawings, and models for the suspending light ceiling sculpture in the entry lobby. The form was carefully layed out to abstract the shape of the state of Kentucky in both plan and elevation. The composition is made of convential T8 fluorescent tubes.
