Project Description: The Global Financial Services HQ is a 360,000 square foot office building. The globally connected nature of the work performed in the office levels reaches out, metaphorically, and ‘pulls’ the landscape upwards from the earth. Integrating brand expression through environmental graphics as a mean of place-making and orientation–color divides up two central towers.

The multidisciplinary approach towards the elevator lobby and ‘flower wall’ graphics were a means of orientation to ones place, not only within the building, but also in a wider cultural context. The first iteration of the elevator lobby graphics was intended to reflect the culture of Miami street art. After selecting native animals, I produced a series of murals that was inspired by the artistic culture of Miami’s Wynwood District. After a number of approvals, the client changed their preference from the street art theme to suggesting the native flora and fauna. The native flora and fauna graphics were depicted as having soothing, or atmospheric, quality that could at once be subtle, but also reinforce ones location within the building. The color palette of each of the elevator lobby graphics connects with color in their corresponding adjacent atrium.
